Your Role:
As a Therapy Assistant, you will work closely with the Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist to deliver high-quality therapy services. In this role, you will share responsibility for the well-being of clients and actively contribute to the development and implementation of programs that address their physical, cognitive, social, and emotional needs. By enabling and empowering individuals to maximise their abilities and participate as they choose, you will play a key role in enhancing the quality of life for those accessing aged care services with Juniper. Reporting to the Allied Health practitioners, the successful candidate will honour our core values of Welcome, Respect, Compassion, Hope, and Courage.
The successful candidate will be offered a casual position, covering both planned and unplanned leave.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with group and individual cognitive activity programs
- Contribute to evaluating care plans
- Develop and implement activity programs addressing physical, cognitive, social, and emotional needs
- Support therapists in maintaining/improving functional independence
- Record therapy statistics daily
- Provide feedback to therapists on intervention outcomes
Key Requirements:
- Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance
- Experience as a Therapy Assistant or Lifestyle Coordinator
- Experience in the Aged Care Industry, community or residential
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, residents, families, and service providers
