The Role

As a Kitchen Hand, you will provide assistance in the kitchen, preparing food, assisting with meal services and keeping the kitchen area clean and compliant with food safety requirements. As a Domestic Cleaner, you will ensure that all areas of the site are kept hygienic and presentable, contributing to a comfortable, welcoming environment for residents, staff and visitors. As a Laundry Assistant, you will ensure that all linen and residents' clothing is appropriately laundered and returned them. In this role you will provide person centred care and communicate with residents in a manner that enhances their quality of life, ensuring that they feel welcome and respected at all times. It will be important that you embrace Juniper's core values and follow our policies and procedures.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual passionate about this vocation to join our Relief Team. The ideal candidate should be available to work Monday to Friday and have the flexibility to cover planned and unplanned leave across all 14 residential sites in the Perth Metro area.  

The successful candidate will be offered a casual position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present breakfast, serve lunch and dinner
  • Provide kitchen hand services including food preparation, texture modification, and accurate apportioning
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness in cooking areas and equipment
  • Perform cleaning services including vacuuming, emptying rubbish, dusting, wiping surfaces, and maintaining resident rooms, windows, toilets, bathrooms, and communal areas
  • Handle residents’ laundry, ensuring proper washing and return of clothing
  • Manage bed linen, ensuring it is laundered and labeled correctly
  • Show respect for residents’ property and privacy
  • Use equipment safely and follow proper PPE protocols
  • Adhere to Juniper's Occupational Safety and Health policies

Key Requirements:

  • Current WA Driver Licence + reliable car
  • Unlimited Working Rights 
  • Minimun 6 months experience in a commercial environment or aged care
  • Knowledge of relevant chemicals and safe handling procedures
  • Understanding of infection control procedures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
