Currently we have a vacant role available for an experienced Cook to join our team in Rowethorpe, Bentley on a CASUAL basis.

Your Role:

The primary purpose of this role is to prepare and cook high quality, nutritious meals to meet our residents’ special dietary requirements. You will be responsible for supervising a team of catering staff, making sure that the quality of meals is maintained at a high standard.

This will be a perfect opportunity for you if you have a passion for hospitality and also enjoy being with older people and making a positive difference to the lives of others. The duties of this role may vary depending upon the operational needs of the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and cooking high quality, nourishing meals for our residents
  • Monitoring all practices within the catering centre to ensure safe food handling and infection control procedures are being adhered to
  • Ensure all areas of the kitchen are cleaned to the highest standards
  • Stock control management, replenishing and ordering stock as required
  • Compliance with Juniper’s Occupational, Safety and Health requirements
  • Provide supervision and direction to Kitchen Hands

Key Requirements:

  • Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery or higher
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as Cook/Chef in large scale meal production
  • Experience working in production environment
  • Basic knowledge of dietary nutrition for elderly residents
  • Ability to manage bulk ordering, purchasing, and stock control of food
  • Sound budgeting acumen
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office programs.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal and interpersonal skills
