About the role:

We are seeking newly graduated and experienced Registered Nurses to join our Residential Aged Care home along with our Transition Care Program (TCP) team in Albany.  Juniper Korumup .TCP provides short-term care that seeks to optimise the functioning and independence of older adults after a hospital stay. The aim of the program is to provide older people with an option to improve their functional independence and enable them to return home, or provide support to secure permanent aged residential care.

As a Registered Nurse you will partner with customers to assess their needs, implement strength-based strategies and evaluate effectiveness. You will work within the broader multidisciplinary team including allied health, case managers and multiskilled carers. Full time and Part time opportunities available.
The ideal candidate would be available for a minimum of 3x shifts per week and experienced working as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.

Additional information, opportunities to work a variety of AM, PM and ND shifts Monday to Sunday as required ability to work a dynamic non fixed roster essential to facilitate operational needs*.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strong clinical assessment skills and appropriate response to changes in customer condition in consultation with the broader multidisciplinary team
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care in partnership with customers and their significant others
  • Liaise with appropriate health care professionals to deliver quality care to customers
  • Active participation as integral member of multidisciplinary team
  • Ensure full compliance with organisation, professional and aged care standards

Key requirements:

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Previous experience working in an acute setting as a Registered Nurse
  • Ability to relate to elderly customers with empathy whilst working effectively with other health professionals, service providers and case managers
  • Strong clinical assessment skills
  • Strong communication, organisational and time management skills
  • Supervision, support and appropriate delegation to support staff
  • Enthusiasm for professional growth and development of self and others
  • Experience with surgical drains, PICCS/Ports, wound care and Topical Negative Pressure Dressings 
  • Competency with IDC (male and female), SPC, trial of void, PEG, mental health needs
