About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team at Juniper Bethshan on a part-time basis. This role involves working Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with the flexibility to take on additional shifts at this site or other Juniper locations if desired.
As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide essential care and support to our residents within a warm and welcoming environment. You’ll play a vital role in our multidisciplinary team, offering high-quality, resident-focused Occupational Therapy services. Your key responsibilities will include conducting assessments, setting personalized goals with residents, and implementing therapy plans that foster independence and improve their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess residents’ capabilities and preferences, and set realistic, achievable goals.
- Implement and facilitate therapy plans to maximize residents’ functional capacity.
- Prescribe aids and equipment as needed.
- Maintain effective communication with residents, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
- Supervise and support therapy assistants.
- Collaborate with other health professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
Key Requirements:
- Current registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience working in aged care (desirable).
- Knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards and AN-ACC documentation (favorable).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to relate empathetically to elderly residents.
- Current Australian driver’s license.
