Your Role:

Juniper Aged Care is actively seeking detail-oriented and experienced Kitchen Hand to join our dedicated team at Juniper Annesley in Bentley on a part time basis. The primary purpose of this role is to provide assistance in the kitchen, preparing food, and keeping the kitchen area clean and compliant with food safety requirements.

The responsibilities associated with this position may vary depending on the operational needs of the facility. 

This role is a part time role, 11 hours per fortnight with the opportunity for overtime

Key Responsibilities;

  • Preparing and presenting breakfast, serving lunch and dinner
  • Provide kitchen hand services at our facility that include; preparation of food, modifying food texture, apportioning food accurately, serving food to residents, and maintaining a welcoming cafe atmosphere.
  • Cleaning of cooking areas and equipment to a high standard while also maintaining the coffee preparation station and cafe seating areas.
  • Application of safe food handling practices in both kitchen and barista duties, along with adhering to Juniper's policies and procedures relating to Occupational Safety and Health.

Key requirements:

  • Must have valid work rights in Australia
  • Experience in a commercial cooking environment or aged care catering
  • Safe food handling practice and hygiene standards, including expertise in maintaining cleanliness and safety in a barista station and cafe environment.
  • Demonstrating good written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with residents, customers, and team members.
  • Knowledge of relevant chemicals and safe handling practices and procedures for both cooking, coffee preparation, and cafe operations.
