BUSINESS SUPPORT OFFICER

This role is a vital part of the team at Kings Engineering in Rutherford, committed to providing exceptional service to our internal and external customers.

Kings is a member company of The Bloomfield Group, a privately owned group of companies which operate in the mining and engineering sectors. Last year Kings celebrated 100 years in business, providing overhaul, repair and component rebuild, machining and fabrication services to a range of industries including tunnelling and infrastructure, rail, manufacturing and mining.

Reporting into the Commercial Manager this role works closely with the Machine Shop Supervisor and team to provide financial and operational support services.

This well-rounded role offers variety of work and opportunity for growth and development with the team at Kings and across The Bloomfield Group.

About the role

  • Daily timesheet management, making sure accurate entry into the accounting system for job costing, verifying hours, and preparing timesheets to streamline operations.
  • Manage job support processes, including preparing and maintaining job packs, tracking work in progress (WIP), creating invoices, and collaborating with teams to ensure accuracy, profitability, and customer satisfaction
  • Collection and preparation of site based timesheets for weekly contract labour invoicing and records
  • Assist with general ledger reconciliations and journal entries, and follow up of outstanding invoices including maintenance of records
  • Provide administrative support to the broader team, coordinate incoming and outgoing mail/courier services and ongoing maintenance of office supplies and equipment
  • Provide reception services and direct and respond to inquiries as appropriate 

About You

We are looking for an operationally focussed individual who thrives on delivering quality customer and administrative services to a variety of stakeholders. This will require someone that has solid experience in an administrative role, ideally within a workshop or manufacturing environment.

You are able to confidently navigate your way around Microsoft Excel and Word and manage your time effectively to prioritise and complete multiple tasks on time. Previous experience using accounting software for job costing, invoicing, and financial processes would make you an ideal candidate for this role.
