About the role

Kings Engineering has exciting opportunity for our next Apprentice intake, commencing in January 2026 for our Apprenticeship Program.

If successful in gaining this sought after opportunity, you will embark on a structured training program with potential for site placements across the Bloomfield Group and can expect to work in a caring environment where your learning is guided by experienced tradespersons, supervisors, and managers.

As an Apprentice Machinist, you will learn how to:

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment and be a champion of safety
  • Operate manual lathes, drills, mills, borers, grinders and CNC's
  • Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings
  • Use specialised measuring equipment
  • Perform accurate measurements to ensure parts meet required specifications and tolerances
  • Test and repair hydraulic cylinders
  • Correctly and safely operate high risk workshop machines such as overhead cranes and forklifts

Essential Criteria

  • Access to your own reliable transport to and from site
  • Possess strong mathematical aptitude with a minimum of Year 10 completion prior to commencement of Apprentice Program
  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for your chosen trade
  • Take pride in the quality of your work
  • Be able to work independently, as well as contribute to a team
  • Be reliable for full-time working hours Monday to Friday and some weekends
  • Be committed to completing and passing all practical and theory-based study requirements of your Apprenticeship
  • Comfortable working at heights and in a physically demanding environment
