The role:

As Construction Coordinator you will ensure the efficient and effective operation of Council's Construction Section. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has experience in the management and coordination of staff and plant equipment and a passion for Construction.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Local Government Works Certificate or relevant Trade Certificate
  • Experience in the Management and coordination of staff and plant including conducting performance appraisals
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering and building plans, extracting quantities and producing estimates of costs for Council works
  • Thorough knowledge of road building techniques, materials and standards
  • Knowledge of building, construction and maintenance standards, codes and techniques
  • RMS Traffic Controller’s Certificate Red, Yellow and Blue and experience applying traffic control standards
  • Class C Driver’s Licence
  • WH&S white card.

About you:

You will be a strong leader and team player with well-developed communication skills. You will use these skills and liaise with Coordinators to achieve the overall objectives of the Engineering and Works Department. You will be supportive of staff and derive solutions to work related problems while using your coordination skills to ensure all requested works are undertaken within suitable time frames and budgetary allocations. 

 We offer:

  • Permanent full time, 38 hours per week, 9 day fortnight
  • Annual salary from $78,878.80 to to $84,078.80 (depending on qualifications, skills and experience)
  • plus 10% superannuation
  • Leaseback vehicle for operational and private use
