The role:
As Communications Officer you will manage the development, maintenance and delivery of Council's website and intranet and lead Council's online and digital engagement to support the organisation's services and programs. You will effectively engage with stakeholders to build pathways and manage training for best practice website and effective intranet solutions. You will also deliver projects, strategies and content for Council’s website and intranet to engage users, improve usability, ensure business efficiency, achieve industry best practice standards and reflect Council’s values.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Degree in Communications or equivalent
- Project management experience with the ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines
- Experience in the development, management and maintenance of websites and Intranets
- Experience building and maintaining effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
- A strong understanding of and commitment to web usability, SEO and WCAG2.0.
About you:
You will have the ability to take the initiative, think creatively, work well under pressure, prioritise and work as part of a team. Your communication skills will be well developed and you will have expertise in web writing and good attention to detail. Although not essential it is desired the successful candidate in this role has Certificate IV in Web-Based Technologies (Design & Development) or equivalent. Experience working in a Local Government environment and/or experience with content management systems and technical knowledge of video editing and photography would also be an advantage.
We offer:
- Permanent part time, 28 hours per week
- Annual salary calculated on 28 hours per week is from $61,027.20 to $65,116.48 (depending on qualifications, skills and experience)
- plus 10.5% superannuation effective 1 July 2022
- Access to Council's accrued time system
- Access to the Fitness Passport
