We currently have an opportunity for an Environment and Health Coordinator to join the Planning, Environment & Community department. As an Environment and Health Coordinator you will get to:
• Coordinate and supervise the Environmental Health and Sustainability Team which includes the functions of:
- Environmental Health (including food shop, On-site Sewage, Skin Penetration, Swimming pool water quality, Drinking water inspections and pollution incidence)
- Environmental Sustainability (including NetZero, Electric vehicles, Coastal Management Programs, Bush regeneration, biodiversity and Energy Efficiency projects)
• Provide high level support and advice to the Chief Executive Officer, Directors, and Managers in relation to Environmental Health and Sustainability.
• Develop and lead the strategies, policies, standards, and procedures of the Environmental Health and Sustainability section.
• Promote the image of Council as being innovative in servicing the needs of the community
What we offer...
- Permanent full time, 35hours per week (A job share arrangement will be considered for this role - if applicable)
- Annual salary from $91,528.84 to $108,262.44 (salary is dependent on qualifications, skills and experience)
- Plus 11.5 % superannuation
- Leaseback, mobile Phone and laptop.
What you'll need to be successful in the role...
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or equivalent, with minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Proven leadership, coaching, and team management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and interpreting policies and procedures, particularly relating to Environmental Health, Public Health, Sustainability, NetZero, Coastal Management Plans and other policies and strategic documents.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance procedures.
- Experience in inspections and enforcement.
- Excellent communication, consultation, and conflict resolution skills with a strong customer focus.
- Demonstrated experience in research, analysis, and evaluation of information with the ability to prepare complex, non-standard reports.
- Ability to adapt to change and solve complex problems.
- Proven ability to build working relationships with Managers and Directors to provide expert advice and high-level support.
- Experience in preparing budgets and assisting with grants for the team or specific project.
- Demonstrated experience in critical business and workflow planning.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
