We currently have the opportunity for a Manager Engineering & Technical Services in our Infrastructure & Liveability department. 

In the role of Manager Engineering and Technical Services you will use your proven management skills to lead a passionate and enthusiastic team to meet organisational goals and deliver to the community of Kiama. You will have responsibility for the core functions of:

  • Asset management & service planning
  • Capital works programming and budgeting
  • Maintenance scheduling and budgeting
  • Project initiation, development and design
  • Project management and contract management for delivery of Council projects
  • Subdivision management
  • Design services including public space.

You will also provide expertise and innovation in relation to services within the section and proactively participate in the continuous improvement of organisational culture. 

What we offer...

  • Permanent full time, 35 hours per week
  • Annual salary from $116,465.96 to $136,464.12 (salary is dependent on qualifications, skills and experience)
  • Plus a managers allowance paid on a weekly basis
  • Plus civil liability allowance (dependent on qualifications)
  • Plus 11.5 % superannuation 
  • A mobile phone
  • The option of a leaseback vehicle for operational and private use.

What you'll need to be successful in the role...

  • Tertiary qualifications in civil engineering or a discipline relevant to the role
  • Extensive experience in a leadership role
  • Extensive experience in project scoping, cost estimation, cost control with a strong business acumen
  • Extensive experience in asset development, management and maintenance
  • Experience writing reports, proposals, submissions, tender specifications, management plans and technical policies
  • Experience leading change, continuous improvement and quality customer service 
  • A high level of communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills along with experience building and managing relationships
  • A high level of interpersonal skills with the ability to consult and engage stakeholders.
