We are seeking a highly skilled and empathetic Occupational Therapist to join our high-performing team at our Cairns office.  

Responsibilities include: 

  • Assessing workers with physical and psychological injuries to determine the best way to help them get back to work.
  • Completing workplace assessments to identify physical and psychological demands of roles and develop tailored rehabilitation plans aimed at achieving sustainable return-to-work outcomes.
  • Providing clinical opinions and justification through report writing.
  • Completing Activities of Daily Living Assessments including coordinating services and equipment prescription.  
  • Case managing complex injuries and liaising with treating doctors and health professionals to help an injured worker recover and get back to work.  

In this diverse and exciting position, you'll collaborate with and oversee other practitioners, taking ultimate responsibility for delivering injury prevention services, such as:  

  • Pre-Employment Assessments including drug & alcohol, audiology, spirometry, vision, and functional testing.
  • Job dictionary is a detailed document outlining the essential duties, physical demands, and cognitive requirements of a specific job, crucial for assessing a client's suitability for return to work in workplace rehabilitation.
  • Manual Task Risk Assessments.
  • Interactive Manual Handling Training and Stretching and Warm Up programs.
  • Workplace-based, home-based and vehicle based ergonomic assessments.

What will you bring to the role:  

  • Current registration as an Occupational Therapist with AHPRA. 
  • Strong problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.

  • A flexible and proactive nature.
