We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Governance Manager at KINNECT to drive quality, compliance, and operational excellence in occupational health services.

We are excited to announce an opening for a Clinical Governance Manager, a pivotal role that ensures our occupational health services meet the highest quality standards, comply with legislative requirements, and support the business's operational excellence. This position reports directly to the Occupational Health Services Manager and collaborates closely with key stakeholders, including the Chief Medical Officer, doctors, nurses, and the medical support team.

This hybrid role offers flexibility and can be based in any one of our offices across Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, or Sydney.

Responsibilities:

  • Refine, enhance, and implement the clinical governance framework and priorities set by the Board, overseeing the development and execution of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, legislation, and best practices in healthcare.
  • Stay informed about regulatory and standards changes in occupational health, interpret their implications for KINNECT, update and implement necessary adjustments in policy, procedure, and systems  
  • Ensure compliance readiness for external audits and liaise with auditors and regulators such as NATA and other auditing entities
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement and quality initiatives, leveraging technology (including Carelever) to enhance pre-employment and health surveillance service delivery and customer experience  
  • Provide evidence-based advice and recommendations for the medical team   in the development and investigation of new services
  • Identify, assess, and manage clinical risks, developing strategies to mitigate potential issues.
     Implement training programs for our occupational health team, including doctors, registered nurses, and medical support staff, related to pre-employment and health surveillance services.
  • Oversee the investigation of clinical incidents, ensuring appropriate action is taken and lessons are learned.

What will you bring to the role?  

  • The ideal candidate will come from a nursing background and have experience in Clinical Governance. A background in occupational health is preferred; however, experience in acute care or respiratory care is also desirable. This expertise will provide the candidate with a deep understanding of spirometry and other essential clinical tasks.
  • The ability to work independently, managing both strategic and operational responsibilities within the clinical governance framework.
  • Proven track record in conducting audits and driving quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, essential for engaging with stakeholders, collaborating with teams, and advocating for operational excellence in occupational health.
  • Experience in writing and developing policies to ensure compliance and best practices across clinical governance.
  • Tech-savvy, with the ability to drive process improvement using technology and leveraging systems such as our Carelever platform.
