We are seeking an outcome-focused Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant to join our multidisciplinary team on the Gold Coast.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys job seeking, employer engagement and helping people identify and secure lasting employment.
You will support injured workers who are unable to return to their pre-injury employer to identify suitable employment options, build job readiness, engage with employers, attend interviews and achieve sustainable return-to-work outcomes under the workers compensation scheme.
This is not a traditional clinical counselling role. The focus is on vocational rehabilitation, employment outcomes and practical support to help people successfully transition into new work.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide vocational guidance, job readiness support and practical job-seeking assistance to injured workers seeking new employment
- Conduct labour market research to identify realistic employment options aligned with each worker's functional capacity, transferable skills, experience and interests
- Support workers with resumes, cover letters, job applications and interview preparation
- Develop individualised return-to-work plans aligned with medical advice and current labour market opportunities
- Canvass employers directly to identify suitable employment, interview and placement opportunities
- Support workers through the recruitment and placement process to achieve sustainable employment outcomes
- Liaise with insurers, employers and treating health practitioners to coordinate effective return-to-work planning
- Maintain accurate case notes and documentation in line with legislative, insurer and organisational requirements

What Will You Bring to the Role?
- Psychologists: current AHPRA registration
- Rehabilitation Counsellors: eligibility for or current full membership of ASORC
- A genuine passion for helping others. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Effective time management and organisational skills
- Confidence to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Competence with case management software and general IT tools
- A current and valid driver's licence
- Bonus: experience in vocational counselling, employment services or return-to-work services
