Marist College Ashgrove is a Catholic day and boarding school for boys in Years 5-12, situated in Brisbane's inner Northern suburbs. The College is looking for a Kitchen Hand/Dining Staff member to work as part of the Kitchen Team.  This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and friendly team member who is passionate and highly motivated.  The successful candidate will work under the Head Chef to deliver the highest quality of food available for our staff and students in a timely manner.  This is a part-time, 15 hours per week ongoing position. No qualifications necessary, however kitchen experience is highly regarded.

This position is remunerated according to the Services Level 1 which is $25.5895 per hour.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Strong communication and leadership skills;
  • The ability to work quickly, whilst remaining calm and courteous under pressure;
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented and flexible environment;
  • Highly developed planning skills, including the ability to multi-task, prioritise and meet deadlines;
  • A very good knowledge of Food Safety and Food Handling Standards;

Essential Selection Criteria:

  1. A valid Queensland working with Children Check (Blue Card) is mandatory;
  2. Food Safety Certificate (minimum highly regarded);
  3. Food Handling Certificate is advantageous;
  4. Experience in commercial kitchen operations is advantageous;
  5. Barista experience is advantageous;
  6. Drivers Licence.
  7. Mandatory double COVID vaccinations
