The Role
Undertake regular corrective and routine planned preventative maintenance and grounds work to ensure the appearance and condition of the Village and it’s buildings, plant, facilities, equipment and grounds areas are of a quality standard required to provide a pleasant and safe environment for our residents, team and visitors.
This is a full-time position and the working hours are:
- Monday - Thursday 7.30am - 4pm
- Friday - 7.30am to 2pm
Some of your duties and responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Carry out minor repairs to buildings, plant, and equipment, such as:
- Painting, Plastering
- Small repair on floor finish
- General carpentry tasks
- General repairs such as door, lock, flyscreen repairs
- Plumbing repairs, leaking taps, blocked toilets, shower leak repairs
- General cleaning/hard surface cleaning – water blasting
- Clean pathways using a leaf blower
- Empty bins and removal of general waste items
- Assisting with event set up and break downs
- Attend to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure that for work undertaken the relevant Australian Standards and Regulations are observed
- Comply with health and safety requirements relating to maintenance activities
About you
- Demonstrated experience in undertaking maintenance duties, preferably in a Retirement Living / Aged Care environment
- Experience in planning and managing job allocations in a timely manner
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment - you are a great communicator and look for continuous improvement
- Sound knowledge of computer software programs (Microsoft Word, Office)
- Understanding of, and empathy towards aged persons and their requirements living within a Retirement Village or other similar facility
