The Asia Pacific region currently includes Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Singapore, with approximately 1900 employees.

We have an opportunity for a HR Business Partner (Senior HR Executive) to join the Asia Pacific HR team.  This role is based in Welisara, Colombo and reports to the General Manager, HR of Southeast Asia (based in Australia) with a dotted reporting line to the Country Manager of Sri Lanka.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support Leaders to be accountable and own the employee relationship to instil the Lineage culture and enhance employee engagement
  • Conduct workplace investigations including conducting interviews, writing reports, and implementing recommended outcomes
  • Support Leaders with discipline and complaints process, including documenting and drafting letters for people related matters
  • Lead and support Leaders to establish resource needs, such as workforce planning, structure review, development of position descriptions, recruitment, interviewing etc.
  • Drive the performance, talent, and succession planning cycle
  • Deliver capability / training programmes (e.g., Leading the Lineage Way, DEI, Supervisor Toolkits) and managing the training register in conjunction with site safety resource
  • Drive the CIR site engagement plan, and ensuring compliance with onboarding and induction requirements
  • Perform all HR administration tasks (e.g., drafting offer letters, change letters, processing in HRIS, maintain employee files etc.).  Maintain accurate employee records, ensure data integrity, and people processes are processed accurately
  • Participate in compliance audits by managing the people related aspects, making sure the compliance levels are maintained at highest possible levels

To be successful, you will have: 

  • Degree or an equivalent qualification in HR, Business or Commerce
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience as a Generalist HR practitioner, preferably in a blue-collar environment
  • Strong knowledge of Sri Lankan labour laws with the ability to interpret and provide general advice
  • Strong employee relations knowledge and experience including effective performance management, conflict, dispute resolution, and workplace investigations
  • Strong knowledge and experience in resourcing and recruitment, including liaising with external recruitment agencies
  • Experience with Payroll and HRIS systems (Workday is advantageous)
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence
  • Have the ability to build strong effective relationships with Senior Leaders, with strong stakeholder management skills at all levels
  • Must have strong attention to detail and high accuracy, to support drafting of HR documents and effective and efficient deliverables of HR processes
  • Knowledge on compliance audits will be an advantage (customer sourcing audits, health and safety audits, employee wellbeing audits etc.)
