The Asia Pacific region currently includes Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Singapore, with approximately 2000 employees.

As we continue to grow, transform and innovate, we are looking to appoint a Continuous Improvement Manager to support a culture of sustainable improvement & operational excellent at our Hemmant & Cannon Hill facilities in Brisbane.

Reporting to the Director, Strategy & CI, you will be responsible for developing and leading CI capability to deliver on the company's strategic plan. Partnering with the business, you will focus on providing instruction & guidance on corporate LEAN initiatives using waste identification/elimination, Kaizens and other LEAN methodologies. Working closely with site leadership teams, acquiring LEAN Certifications will be your primary goal.

About You

As a truly consultative CI champion, you value the importance of connecting with people through a shared vision and purpose. Ideally, we're looking for a LEAN Six Sigma accredited professional (blackbelt preferred) with a background in transport/logistics/operations. Your history of implementing continuous improvement strategies & initiatives which effectively meet or exceed business requirements and customer expectations should ideally be complimented by your extensive track record in mentoring, coaching and training at various organisational levels.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading the pilot LEAN program across our Queensland sites to required certification levels.
  • Assisting with rolling out a standardised cookie cutter approach across other sites, using the existing global LEAN toolkit.
  • Assisting with facilitating LEAN activities such as Kaizens events, standardised implementations, values-stream mapping and Continuous Improvement Roadmaps (CIRs).
  • Embedding quality systems, continuous process improvement and safety initiatives in accordance with LEAN thinking throughout the organisation.
  • Regularly reviewing LEAN performance expectations with leadership teams across the organisation, providing feedback, training and development.
  • Communicating and fostering the development of a common vision. Energising people with a sense of purpose by providing clarity of priorities and strategies.

To be successful, you will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a CI Leadership role, coaching LEAN transformation in logistics, transport, operations or similar.
  • A degree (MBA desirable) in Logistics, Operations Management, LEAN Manufacturing or similar.
  • Experience in the management of medium to large projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the practical implementation of operational excellence programs and cultural change.
  • Experience in combining the three critical perspectives of strategic direction, project planning & data analytics.
  • Exposure to site P&L management and analysis.
  • Strong understanding and implementation of safety procedures, product safety, quality and legality issues.
  • Proven ability to engage with all levels of management and employees.
