We currently have an exciting opportunity in the Governance and Risk Team . Under the guidance of experienced team, you will play a crucial role in assisting with Council's administrative and governance processes. This position offers valuable hands-on experience in corporate governance and risk, giving you the foundation you need to launch a successful career in this field.

Under the guidance of the Governance and Risk Coordinator you will have the chance to:

  • Assist with Council's governance processes.
  • Assess risks and contribute to the management of our robust risk framework.
  • Take part in implementing and maintaining Council's Safety system.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • To be eligible and willing to undertake a certificate in Business, Governance, Risk Management or other relevant course;
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written;
  • Ability to work in a team environment;
  • Effective time management skills.

The Liverpool Plains Shire Council is a diverse organisation employing over 120 staff across a wide variety of fields who deliver a range of services to the local government area encompassing Blackville, Caroona, Currabubula, Pine Ridge, Premer, Quirindi, Spring Ridge, Wallabadah, Werris Creek and Willow Tree and the almost 8000 residents who reside there.

The council is situated in Quirindi, the heart of the Liverpool Plains, 65km from Tamworth and about four hours North West of Sydney, famous for its stunning landscapes and rich, highly productive land and is the perfect place to call home.
