We are looking for a Safety and Wellbeing Officer to join our team. Working closely with the Manager People, Safety and Culture you will be responsible for the developing and delivering a range of Work Health and Safety, Injury Management and Return to Work programs. In addition, you will also lead the delivery of proactive wellbeing initiatives that support a healthy and safe workforce.
In this role you will be responsible for a varied range of duties including, but not limited to:
- Providing WHS, Injury Management and RTW expertise, guidance, advice and support to Council management and staff.
- Developing, promote and deliver WHS education and workplace inductions for new and existing staff as required.
- Coordinating, develop and maintain Council’s Return to Work program and related RTW plans.
- Coordinating the design, delivery and evaluation of WHS training and development activities in line with the annual Training Plan.

The Liverpool Plains Shire Council is a diverse organisation employing over 120 staff across a wide variety of fields who deliver a range of services to the local government area encompassing Blackville, Caroona, Currabubula, Pine Ridge, Premer, Quirindi, Spring Ridge, Wallabadah, Werris Creek and Willow Tree and the almost 8000 residents who reside there.

This role offers the opportunity for you to be part of a competent, high performing team, along with opportunities for ongoing training.
We offer a salary range starting at $68,135 - $87,219 gross per annum plus superannuation. The salary range will increase by 3% effective from July 2025. A starting salary will be negotiated with the successful applicant dependent on skills, knowledge and experience relevant to the position.
