HOSPITAL LINEN PORTER (Permanent Part-time)
The Somersby Laundry is part of Linen Service Australia, the largest textiles management and laundry operator in Australasia. Our Linen Laundry plants manage the textile and laundry requirements of customers in the healthcare, accommodation, hospitality and aged care sectors.
We currently have a great opportunity for a Permanent Part-time Linen Porter to work 30 to 35 hours per week in our hospital linen room at Westmead Private Hospital.
- Monday to Friday - 10:00am to 4:00pm
- Saturday - 6:00am to 2:00pm (varies)
As a Linen Porter, you will ensure the linen is delivered throughout the hospital to various linen cupboards. You will deliver and collect linen (towels, sheets, pillowcases, gowns, etc) across the hospital to support clinical staff care for their patients.
Duties
This will involve (but not be limited to) completing duties such as:
- Carrying linen bundles to fill trolleys or shelves
- Using trolleys to transport stock throughout the hospital
- Visually checking product for quality
- Counting bundled linen into linen cupboards to match orders
- Completing manual and computer picking dockets
- Following safe work procedures
- Collection of soiled linen
- Place orders on a tablet
Skills experience
- Good Fitness Level with the ability to lift 5kg – 15kg repetitively
