Laundry Worker
Our Truganina Laundry is a brand new, purpose built commercial laundry. We are part of Ensign Services, the largest linen and textiles management and laundry operator in Australasia. Our Laundry plants manage the garment, textile and laundry requirements of customers in the essential services of healthcare and aged care together with the hospitality and accommodation sectors.
We are currently seeking fulltime staff to work in our Stores Department. This is a hands-on role. The central focus of this role is to ensure the effective resolution of any customer queries, completion of new orders in a professional and timely manner along with prompt and accurate processing of data.
As the Stores Operation is a significant aspect of the management of our customers experience from installation to ongoing maintenance of uniform, this role connects the day-to-day management of the Stores function.
Duties
- Issuing new uniforms
- Branding - labelling of uniforms, rfid tagging
- Repairs
- Data entry
- Stock transfer
- Re-ordering stock
- Processing of linen
- Fast paced production work
- Machine Operating
- Repetitive tasks
- Labour intensive work (lifting, bending, standing for extended periods)
- Using app based work stations
- Working in the supply department
- Following safe work procedures
Skills experience
- Can do attitude
- Willingness to be part of our safety culture
- Good Fitness Level with the ability to lift 5kg - 15kg repetitively
- Flexibility
- Good communication skills
- Team player comfortable working in a multicultural workforce
- Ability to use apps on a smart phone or tablet
- Ability to read and understand instructions and apply the information to your work
- Basic literacy & numeracy skills
- There are opportunities for people with experience sewing and mending clothes
- Quick learner
- Previous laundry experience would be an advantage but not necessary as on the job training will be provided.
