The Commercial/Finance Manager is responsible for all financial aspects of the operation including accounting, reporting, coordinating branch operational staff in financial matters and providing sound business analysis to the General Manager and CFO. The core purpose of this role is control of the day to day transactional accounting, reporting and compliance of the operation.

The Commercial/Finance Manager is further responsible for providing solid leadership and direction, identifying opportunities for profit growth & efficiency improvement and ensuring performance standards and budgets are met.

Key responsibilities:

• Actively seeks to increase revenue, monitors costs and implements cost management strategies in order to maximise returns. 
• Analyses relevant financial information and prepares accurate and timely reports.
• Provides strategic advice to management.
• Ensures Accounts are managed effectively within budget and according to company policy.
• Provides effective financial support and advice to all stakeholders.
• Develops, supports, and trains staff.  Provides on the job training, develops performance and development plans, and monitors work standards and performance.
• Maintains a positive work environment, provides direction and leads by example.
• Drives a culture of safety and provides a safe working environment for staff at all sites by ensuring that Ensign’s occupational health and safety standards are upheld at all times.
• Ensures a safe and hazard free workplace environment by reporting and managing health and safety hazards. 

 Experience/skill set:

You will possess Tertiary qualifications in Commerce. Experience as per below:

• Proven track record in a commercial finance function, ideally with a strong background in analytics, financial modelling and business transformation.
• High attention to detail, compiling accurate reports in a deadline driven environment.
• Hands-on business accounting experience, budgeting, forecasting, month-end and P&L management & reporting.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to break down complex matters for all stakeholders.
• CPA or CA qualification.
