NATIONAL ENGINEERING MANAGER

The National Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the business compliance to maintenance requirements and ensuring maximum machine availability across the group.  The position is the subject matter expert with regard to plant and equipment across the business.  The role will monitor and ensure preventative maintenance systems are set up correctly for all plant.

This role is to bring best practice and standardisation to the Maintenance Teams, ensure standard compliance with all company and external requirements, work to maximise uptimes and external contractors being used to determine if more efficient or national solutions can be achieved.  The role will be required to travel regularly to all the sites to understand and resolve issues, undertake audits to ensure compliance to standards and work with the maintenance teams to determine solutions to improve machine availability.

About you:

  • 5 years senior management experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Proven track record in the maintenance of manufacturing plant
  • A forward thinker who is able to manage complexity and ambiguity, and keeps up-to-date with industry trends
  • Experience leading maintenance teams that are geographically distributed or fully remote
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Industry experience in textiles and/or laundry equipment is ideal but not essential
  • Tertiary qualification in mechanical engineering or related discipline essential

Linen Services Australia, Ensign Services and Taylors Laundries are a market leader in the provision of textile solutions across Australia and New Zealand.  They focus across the Healthcare and Aged Care Linen, Accommodation Linen and Garment sectors.  The business operates its own laundries in 13 locations across Australia and New Zealand, with the laundries being significant manufacturing facilities with complex and technical equipment. 

Each plant has dedicated maintenance personnel on site to manage day to day requirements, preventative maintenance and any breakdowns.  Each location has a Maintenance Manager that manages the maintenance staff directly and is responsible for ensuring the equipment in running order and minimising any down time.  Maintenance staff are required to be on site during all hours of operation.
