We have a permanent position available in our Purchasing Support - Local team!

Location: Villawood, NSW.

This position is available on a part-time basis, 3 days per week from Monday-Wednesday. The start date will be on 24 February 2025.

This role is only open to internal candidates.

The Role:

The main purpose of Purchasing Support is to purchase raw materials, packaging and all the other requirements for the manufacturing business to meet the timeline(s) for the production of Lush products. You will be working within the purchasing team, independently managing your own duties to monitor stock levels and procure what is required from local suppliers. This role requires good communication and interpersonal skills along with attention to detail and a methodical approach to work. 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Accurately placing local orders and liaising with suppliers.
  • Accurately and timely entry of orders into the system.
  • Communicating clearly on a need-to-know basis with warehouse, and production room managers
  • and production support teams in relation to the availability of stock.
  • Maintaining open and positive relationships with local suppliers.
  • Upholding LUSH values when working with suppliers, such as no animal testing.
  • Proactively manage non-supplied, under orders, over orders and damaged goods.
  • Reconciliation and payment approval of all invoices from local suppliers, documenting monthly spending. You will also be responsible for the filing, organisation and storage of invoices.
  • Working with Systems Support to ensure any changes or updates are captured in the system. This includes but is not limited to, price updates, pack sizes, minimum order quantities and product structure.
  • Coordination with the design team for the printing of price tags, labels and all local printing materials.
  • Analysing spending practices and finding and acting on opportunities for profit improvement
  • Support process improvement by identifying, and analysing opportunities to maximise productivity
  • Maintaining positive communication with key departments including forecasting, customer service, production support, warehouse and production room managers.
  • Obtaining and maintaining up-to-date Product Specifications, Certificate of Analysis and Material Safety Data Sheets from suppliers and other literature to support the management materials. Provide updated material safety data sheets to the safety officer along with departments handling the material.
  • Work with the purchasing team to ensure all local suppliers comply with Lush’s non-animal testing policy and maintain records of the non-animal testing annual review.

  • Problem-Solving Mindset: We need someone who’s proactive and can think on their feet to overcome challenges.
  • Experience in Manufacturing & Purchasing: A background in these areas is a bonus.
  • An intermediate knowledge of Excel: Help manage data and support key processes.
