Wintringham and Wintringham Housing Limited own and operate a diverse and rapidly expanding property portfolio, within Victoria and Tasmania. It includes Residential Aged Care Facilities, independent living units, and offices. We develop to own, and we manage properties on behalf of other organisations. The Asset Services department is charged with the responsibility of maintaining and enhancing Wintringham’s assets to ensure the organisation can continue to provide a safe and secure environment.
Your new role
We’re seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our Asset Services team. With a minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance or facilities management you’ll be at the forefront of undertaking programmed and general maintenance tasks at our Wintringham and Wintringham Housing sites. This Full-Time position offers a chance to showcase your varied maintenance skills and professionalism in customer service, playing a pivotal role in maintaining and repairing buildings, grounds, and equipment. This is a Fixed Term role running for 9 months from November 2024 to the 7th of August 2025.

Your responsibilities and duties include:
- Undertake a diverse range of general maintenance tasks to buildings and equipment, including reactive and planned activities such as door adjustments, lamp replacement, basic carpentry, basic plumbing, painting, and more.
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled and in accordance with relevant task outlines
- Actively assist with Essential Services compliance, including monitoring of contractor service frequency to ensure relevant activities are completed in a timely fashion
- Engage and coordinate contractors for specific tasks as required
- Ensuring Work Orders and CMMS are updated with essential & relevant information as per Asset Services standards—including timely closure with activity hours, materials, and costs
- Assist with relocation of resident furniture and belongings
- Actively contribute to a safe workplace by completing all tasks in accordance with safe work practices, including following/writing JSA/SWMS and raising hazards & reporting incidents/near hits
- Participation in the After-Hours Maintenance On-Call rotating roster (paid allowance, seven days, every 10 weeks)

We are looking for candidates with the following:
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in maintenance or facility management
- Strong organisational skills to plan and manage work tasks with the ability to work independently
- Competent manual skills in various building trades
- Knowledge of basic building construction methods and building materials
- Competency to safely use and maintain hand tools, power tools, and garden equipment
- Physical capacity to perform a wide range of manual tasks
- Ideally, qualified and licensed plumber/electrician/builder, or equivalent is desirable but not essential
- A current Victorian drivers licence (a work vehicle is provided for use during business hours)
- Strong computer literacy skills
- Strong communication, both written and verbal, skills
- Commitment to safety and continuous improvement
- Non-judgemental attitude and ability to liaise with people from varying backgrounds
