Systems Engineer
Marist College Ashgrove is a Catholic day and boarding school for boys in Years 5-12, situated in Brisbane's inner Northern suburbs. The College has a vacancy for a Systems Engineer to join our IT Department. This is a full-time, continuing role remunerated at the School Officer Level 6 ($82,154 - $100,020) per annum. Salary is dependent on skills, experience, and qualifications.
This position manages the administration of the College’s IT network, software and information, and maintains secure and appropriate access to all College digital solutions.
Essential Selection Criteria:
- Applicants must have a Blue Card (Working with Children).
- Relevant experience and qualifications in Information Technology.
- Ability to work within a team and problem solve using critical thinking.
- Demonstrated high level knowledge and experience in administering Microsoft networks including but not limited to Azure, Active Directory, Entra ID, Intune etc.
- Extensive knowledge in network administration of complex network switching and Wi-Fi environments with experience in Aruba Networks and Fortinet Firewalls favorable.
- Commitment to the Catholic and Marist ethos of the College.

The ideal applicant will be required to:
- Collaborate with the IT team to provide assistance and advice as a senior member of the team.
- Be able to work independently to administer the college’s network, firewall and server environment.
- Develop and maintain documentation on the college’s IT infrastructure and systems.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of the college’s cyber security systems.
- Collaborate with the Director of IT to develop plans and road maps to improve the college’s IT infrastructure and systems.
- Work in a customer facing role to assist staff and students at the college.
- Work with external stakeholders and vendors
