Program Leader – Creative Arts & Activities

Marist College Ashgrove is a Catholic day and boarding school for boys in Years 5-12, situated in Brisbane's inner Northern suburbs. The College is seeking a committed, dedicated teacher for the Middle Leader position of Program Leader – Creative Arts & Activities.  The Program Leader - Creative Arts & Activities, carries the primary responsibility for the ongoing development and supervision of all College co-curricular Arts programs and the quality of those programs provided for each student from Years 5-12.

 

This position is a Tier 5 position and attracts remuneration and time release is in line with the Catholic Employing Authority Single Enterprise Bargaining Agreement Religious Institute Schools of Qld 2023 – 2026.  The salary for a Tier 5 position is $148,360 per annum.

 

All successful candidates who accept a Middle Leadership Position at Marist College Ashgrove will hold an incumbent continuing teaching role together with the Middle Leader role. The Program Leader – Creative Arts & Activities will be appointed for a period of 1.25 years renewable for a further 4 years on the completion of a successful performance review.

 

The ideal applicant will have the following:

Role Specific

  • Tertiary level graduate qualification in Education (essential) and post-graduate (desirable)
  • Meet all compliance requirements as an educator in Queensland
  • A current National Police Check (on the acceptance of the position)

 

Management and Leadership

  • Ability to lead, manage and develop cohesive staff teams
  • Vision and success in the development and management of operational aspects of a Years 5–12 College
  • Strong sense of self-awareness and the ability to use it to lead by example.

 

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

  • Proven track record of working collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to model optimism and a growth mindset.
  • A genuine service ethos and able to inspire the same in others.

 

Essential Selection Criteria

The criteria below will be used by the selection panel to evaluate applicants.

  • An understanding of the Marist ethos and how you would support and model this as a College leader.
  • Demonstrated capacity as an educational leader in your chosen field, based on a shared strategic vision.
  • Experience in, or the ability to, undertake and lead staff through the operational/administrative/legislative aspects required within your leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain processes to monitor and manage personnel, physical and financial resources, to effectively deliver the priorities of the school.

 

Note:  There is a maximum limit of 200 words per criteria response.
