Senior Financial Accountant
Marist College Ashgrove is a Catholic day and boarding school for boys in Years 5-12, situated in Brisbane's inner Northern suburbs. The College has a vacancy for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our finance team. This is a full-time, ongoing position with a salary range from $110,000 - $120,000 per annum.
The Senior Financial Accountant works under the general supervision of the Director of Finance to ensure efficient financial management, compliance and reporting to comply with relevant statutory requirements.
Typical duties include:
- Financial Reporting
Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly accounts
- Accounting and Finance Records
Process month-end and year end journals – accruals, prepayments and adjustments
- Insurance
Assist with the completion of the Annual Insurance Renewal
- Regulations
Assisting the Director of Finance with the preparation of government statutory returns and ASBA Financial Performance Survey.
- Budget
Monitor income and expenditure items against budget and highlight any budgetary concerns to the Director of Finance in a timely manner.

Essential Selection Criteria:
- Tertiary level business or accounting qualification and membership of a recognised accounting body (eg CA/CPA) or
- Business or accounting qualification and working towards CA or CPA qualification.
- Applicants must have at least 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role in a medium to large business.
- Applicants must have a Blue Card (Working with Children).

The Recruitment Process
