Marist College Ashgrove is a Catholic day and boarding school for boys in Years 5-12, situated in Brisbane's inner Northern suburbs. Due to an internal promotion, the College has a vacancy for 2 Pastoral Leaders to join our pastoral care team. Term 4 2025 or Term 1 2026 start dates can be negotiated.

The role of the Pastoral Leader – Head of House, is to instill within students and families the College’s underlying Marist values, ethos, purpose and strategic direction. Together with the College Leadership Team, the Pastoral Leaders work together to achieve the intent of our College Strategic Plan within our Marist tradition. In doing so, a Pastoral Leader - Head of House, intrinsically understands, supports, and oversees the educational wellbeing of the students within their House, including students from Years 7-12.

 

Essential Selection Criteria:

The ideal applicant will have the following:

  • An understanding of the Marist ethos and how to support and model this as a College leader.
  • Demonstrated capacity as an educational leader in your chosen field, based on a shared strategic vision.
  • Demonstrated capacity for leadership and management, with reference to effectively leading a team and/or working as a member of one.
  • Experience in, or the ability to, develop and co-ordinate proactive wellbeing initiatives aimed at creating a sense of belonging and healthy competition for students in a vertical House system of students from Years 7–12.
  • Proven capacity to support families and manage the wellbeing of students across year levels.

The Recruitment Process

If your application is accepted for the next stage, you will be invited to attend an interview.

Applications close 9:00am Monday 1 September 2025. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an Interview on a day shortly after the closing date.

All candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process.
