Marist College Ashgrove is a Catholic day and boarding school for boys in Years 5-12, situated in Brisbane's inner Northern suburbs. Inspired by the work of St Marcellin Champagnat, we pride ourselves on delivering excellent academic and career pathway results for our inclusive community of students.
The College is seeking a committed, dedicated teacher for the position of Career Counsellor. This is a part-time, fixed-term position until the end of term 2, 2026. Days of work and start date can be negotiated.
The Career Counsellor plays an essential role in the educational process at Marist College Ashgrove facilitating students in their career decision-making process.
The ideal applicant will have the following:
Role Specific
- Tertiary level graduate qualification in Education (essential) and post-graduate in Career Development (CDAA registration).
- Meet all compliance requirements as an educator in Queensland.
- A current National Police check (on acceptance of the position).
Essential Selection Criteria
The criteria below will be used by the selection panel to evaluate applicants.
- Demonstrated experience in leading the implementation of ongoing collaborative reviews of career education programs and practices with a particular focus on ATAR and University pathways
- Awareness and understanding of boys’ education theories and strategies
- Substantial knowledge and experience in leading external stakeholder engagement and internal student management
- Flexibility and resourcefulness in working with a variety of staff members
- Ability to work collaboratively with teams to enhance the College’s identity as a Catholic School in the Marist tradition
