Marist College Ashgrove is a Catholic day and boarding school for boys in Years 5-12, situated in Brisbane's inner Northern suburbs. About the opportunity
The College is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Youth Minister to join our team in either a full-time or part-time capacity during school terms.
The Marist Youth Minister is responsible for animating Catholic and Marist identity and spirituality among young people. Key aspects of the role are implementing and leading school related programs at Marist College Ashgrove including the Game Changers program, the Mates Program and leading all Marist Youth Ministry (MYM) related school-based and post-school events.
Remuneration is in line with the School Officer Level 5 Classification in accordance with the Catholic Employing Authorities Single Enterprise Collective Agreement – RI Schools of Queensland 2023 – 2026 with a starting hourly rate of $39.44.
The ideal applicant will have:
- A strong personal faith lived out in a community of the Catholic Church, an understanding of the Marist ethos, and be comfortable sharing that faith with others - especially young people
- Demonstrated experience in working with young people (aged between 12 and 25) in an evangelising context, and is energised by such ministry;
- Experience in designing and conducting retreat programs, workshops and events such as large young adult gatherings, solidarity immersions and pilgrimages;
- Competency in organising and animating prayer and worship across liturgical and non-liturgical settings;
- The ability to act with discretion and confidentiality when required;
- Strong self-initiative and an ability to work with limited supervision;
- The ability to remain calm and think clearly under pressure.
