Marist College Ashgrove is a Catholic day and boarding school for boys in Years 5-12, situated in Brisbane's inner Northern suburbs. Inspired by the work of St Marcellin Champagnat, we pride ourselves on delivering excellent academic and career pathway results for our inclusive community of students.
The College has created a new position of Boarding House Parent to support our youngest boarders (Years 5 -7) residing in LaValla House.
This position is a member of the Boarding team, and reports to the Boarding Leader of LaValla residence in conjunction with the Boarding team to be responsible for the care, support, and formation of boarders throughout their time at the College.
This role is required to work a 25-hour week, Monday to Friday during College terms with split shifts of 6:30am – 8:30am and 2:30pm to 5:30pm.
The Boarding House Parent is expected to:
- Ensure the effective administration and smooth day to day running of the residence
- Be responsible for the welfare and well-being of students withing the boarding house and aim to provide a caring, safe and happy environment that is as ‘home like’ as possible
- Abide by Marist College Ashgrove Code of Professional Conduct
- Be the first point of contact for a boarding student during times of rostered duty
Mandatory requirements:
- This role requires a valid Working with Children Blue Card.
- Duty of Care certification, provided by the Australian Boarding Schools Association (or willingness to obtain).
- Current Advanced First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain).
