Marist College Ashgrove is a Catholic day and boarding school for boys in Years 5-12, situated in Brisbane's inner Northern suburbs. Inspired by the work of St Marcellin Champagnat, we pride ourselves on delivering excellent academic and career pathway results for our inclusive community of students.
Due to the increase in demand, the Head of College is seeking applications for 2 new Apprentice Chef positions to assist with the preparation and quality of meals for students, staff and our Brothers Community as well as external stakeholders for all College events. The positions are critical roles within the College Catering Team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and friendly team member who is passionate and highly motivated. The successful candidate will work under the Head Chef to deliver the highest quality of food available for our staff and students in a timely manner.
Both positions are remunerated according to the Educational Services Schools General Staff Award 2020 Level 3.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A genuine interest in food and a strong desire to pursue a career in the culinary arts.
- The ability to work quickly, whilst remaining calm and courteous under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented and flexible environment.
- An understanding of Food Safety and Food Handling Standards or suitable prior experience.
- A willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- A commitment to the Catholic and Marist ethos of the College

Note: This will be a contract appointment until you are qualified as a chef. Limited extension (no more than 3 months) after qualification may be available by negotiation.
