Maintenance Officer (Tradesperson)
Marist College Ashgrove is a Catholic day and boarding school for boys in Years 5-12, situated in Brisbane's inner Northern suburbs. Inspired by the work of St Marcellin Champagnat, we pride ourselves on delivering excellent academic and career pathway results for our inclusive community of students.
The College has a vacancy for a Maintenance Officer. This is a full-time, continuing position, for 38 hours per week with the possibility of additional hours as necessary/required. Starting and finishing times will be 6:30am–2:36pm, including a half hour unpaid meal break.
Payment is at Level 3 of the Services classification of the Catholic Employing Authorities Single Enterprise Agreement – $38.61 per hour.
This is an active and physical position within the Maintenance Team at the College.
Typical duties include, but are not limited to:
- Perform carpentry and joinery type work, minor building extensions
- Providing maintenance and repairs to College buildings, assets, equipment, furniture and fittings.
- Perform locksmith duties including the repair and replacement of various types of door locks, fittings and furniture
- Maintain and service tools and equipment regularly
Essential Criteria
The ideal applicant will have:
- Valid Blue Card
- Demonstrated capacity to work well in a team and unsupervised
- Fit and able to carry out physically demanding work
- The ability to prioritise tasks and follow direction
- Excellent attention to detail, teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Similar background work history preferred
- Commitment to the Catholic and Marist ethos of the College
