Laboratory Technician

Marist College Ashgrove is a Catholic day and boarding school for boys in Years 5-12, situated in Brisbane's inner Northern suburbs. The College has a vacancy for a Laboratory Technician. This is a Level 4 (currently $36.98 per hour) term-time, continuing position. This role involves preparing and organising materials and equipment for experiments, assisting teachers and students during practical lessons, and maintaining a clean and safe laboratory environment.

This position is for 38 hours/week during the College term with additional hours as necessary, and some additional weeks during College breaks by negotiation.

Essential Selection Criteria:

The ideal applicant would demonstrate:

  • Commitment to the Catholic and Marist ethos of the College;
  • Excellent attention to detail and initiative;
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills;
  • Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques (Advantageous)
  • Demonstrated capacity to monitor and implement workplace health and safety;
  • Demonstrated competency involving the self-directed application of knowledge with substantial depth in laboratory procedures and familiarity with school laboratory equipment
