Laboratory Technician
Marist College Ashgrove is a Catholic day and boarding school for boys in Years 5-12, situated in Brisbane's inner Northern suburbs. Inspired by the work of St Marcellin Champagnat, we pride ourselves on delivering excellent academic and career pathway results for our inclusive community of students.
The College has a vacancy for a Laboratory Technician. This is a Level 4 (currently $36.98 per hour) term-time, continuing position. This role involves preparing and organising materials and equipment for experiments, assisting teachers and students during practical lessons, and maintaining a clean and safe laboratory environment.
This position is for 38 hours/week during the College term with additional hours as necessary, and some additional weeks during College breaks by negotiation.
Essential Selection Criteria:
The ideal applicant would demonstrate:
- Commitment to the Catholic and Marist ethos of the College;
- Excellent attention to detail and initiative;
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills;
- Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques (Advantageous)
- Demonstrated capacity to monitor and implement workplace health and safety;
- Demonstrated competency involving the self-directed application of knowledge with substantial depth in laboratory procedures and familiarity with school laboratory equipment
