The role & you

Are you passionate about ensuring safety and compliance in your community? We’re on the lookout for a dedicated Swimming Pool - Assistant Building Surveyor/Certifier to join our dynamic team! This is your chance to play a vital role in promoting safe and compliant swimming pool practices while contributing to exciting building projects.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Conduct inspections of swimming pools in accordance with the Council’s inspection program.
  • Assess applications for swimming pool compliance certificates under the Swimming Pools Act.
  • Promote awareness of compliance requirements among stakeholders.
  • Evaluate various development applications based on relevant legislation.
  • Provide expert advice on planning and safety matters.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver high-quality outcomes.

What we're looking for:

  • You should be registered or working towards registration as a Swimming Pool Inspector under the Building and Development Certifiers Act 2018 and hold or be pursuing registration as a Building Surveyor (restricted to Class 1 and 10 buildings).
  • A minimum of 12 months in a Building Surveyor role or similar is required.
  • A solid understanding of applicable legislation is essential.

Salary: Commencing salary circa $83,400 p.a. - $90,700 p.a. plus superannuation. 

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
