The role 

We have an exciting Finance Traineeship opportunity to work while you learn with MidCoast Council and build a strong foundational skillset for your future. 

In this Traineeship you will attain a Certificate III in Financial Services - Accounts Administration (24 months) and gain practical skills such as issuing accounts, maintaining Masterfile records, and updating payment files. You’ll learn to investigate and correct errors, validate rebate applications, and process direct debit requests and adjustments.

This roles requires that you:

  • Have a genuine interest in Finance administration
  • Have an excellent problem solving ability, a flair for numbers and an eye for detail and accuracy
  • Have an aptitude to learn administrative technologies
  • Are diligent in studying to complete your qualification

Please note that to be a successful candidate for this role you’ll be required to complete a pre-employment basic skills assessment.

Commencement: Successful Trainees and Apprentices will commence on Tuesday, 28 January 2025.  

Remuneration: You will be paid in accordance with the Traineeship pay scale as outlined in the Local Government (State) Award 2023 plus superannuation. 

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. 

Tenure: Full-time 35 hours per week over a 24 month period.

Closing date: Monday 7 October 2024 at 11.30 pm.
