Right now, we are investing heavily in our organisation, and our people. Our Administration Centre has relocated to a brand-new state of the art facility designed to inspire innovation, creativity and collaboration. The building has been named ‘Yalawanyi Ganya’ which means “sitting/meeting place” in the Gathang language of the indigenous people across the MidCoast Region.

The role & you

In recent years our Local Government Area has been heavily impacted by natural disaster. This role offers a real opportunity to make a difference, create awareness, and assist our local communities to best prepare for these unfortunate events. 

You will be required to visit local residents, guide and assist them to create household emergency plans, with a focus on those areas at high risk to be impacted by bushfire. You will work with Community Leaders, Stakeholders, and Local Authorities contributing to the social recovery and growing resilience through disaster preparedness. Experience working in disaster recovery and community engagement is a must, accompanied by an Advanced Diploma in Business Administration or related field. This role will primarily operate autonomously and be expected to plan, prepare, analyse, and reach goals effectively. 

Knowledge of Government reporting structures is necessary coupled with demonstrated experience in reaching project milestones.

The package: Commencing salary package circa $65,000 p.a. plus superannuation. 

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

Tenure: Full-time, 12 month contract.
