The role & you

We are seeking a dedicated Water Strategic Asset Engineer to join our Water Planning and Assets department. This position will provide technical expertise in the development and implementation of asset management planning processes for our water and sewer infrastructure. You will contribute to strategic programs and procedures that enhance service delivery and align with community expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality technical input into asset management planning processes for water and sewer assets.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategic asset management programs.
  • Analyse asset performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective delivery of services.
  • Support the development of policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Maintain an acceptable risk profile while managing costs effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Engineering degree and/or extensive relevant experience equivalent to an Engineering degree.
  • Experience in asset management or infrastructure planning, preferably within the water sector.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Salary: Commencing salary circa $91,000 p.a.- $100,000 p.a. plus superannuation (commencing salary will be negotiated with the successful candidate depending on qualifications, skills and experience) 

Civil Liability Allowance: There is a Civil Liability Allowance of 3.5% which applies to this role in addition to the salary. 

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
