The role
We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Theatre Technician to help bring performances, events, and community moments to life at The Manning Entertainment Centre.
As the heart of performing arts in our region, our entertainment centre plays a vital role in connecting our community through live music, theatre, dance, comedy, and local productions. From touring shows to school performances and community events, we provide a space where people come together to be entertained and involved.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading the technical production team, overseeing lighting, sound, stage operations, and backstage support
- Working closely with the MEC Production Manager to develop technical production plans that meet the needs of incoming shows and events
- Supporting the growth and development of casual and part-time staff and providing guidance and support to clients involved in productions
- Managing rostering and ensuring adequate staffing and support across events and productions
- Providing technical support to events across the Library, Community and Cultural Services team
- Promoting and maintaining high WHS standards across all technical operations
What we’re looking for:
- Proven technical theatre experience, including lighting, audio, and stage management
- Proven ability to guide and support a team and build capacity in others
- A collaborative and organised approach to managing production needs and workflows
- Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and community service
- Dogging HRW Licence and a Working With Children’s Check

Salary: Commencing salary circa $63,998 p.a. plus superannuation (negotiable based on skills and experience)
Location: This position will be based at the Manning Entertainment Centre, 33 Manning River Drive, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Tenure:
- Permanent full-time
- 70 hours per fortnight across Monday to Sunday with 4 days off fortnightly
