MidCoast Council is seeking an experienced Property Officer to join our Legal and Property team on a fixed-term contract through to December 2026, with the potential for an ongoing appointment subject to operational requirements.

This role is well suited to a property professional who brings practical experience in property administration, lease and licence management, and stakeholder engagement.

The role

Reporting to the Senior Property Officer, you will play a key role in supporting Council’s diverse property portfolio. You will work across a range of property matters, ensuring accurate administration, compliance with legislative and policy requirements, and effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing property administration activities including leases, licences, agreements and renewals

  • Maintaining accurate property records, registers and systems

  • Supporting property transactions and negotiations in line with Council delegations

  • Liaising with tenants, internal business units, and external stakeholders

  • Assisting with compliance, reporting and governance requirements

  • Providing advice and support on property-related matters across Council

What you’ll bring

You will be an organised and detail-oriented professional with demonstrated experience in a property-related role, ideally within a complex or regulated environment.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Experience in property administration, property management or a related discipline

  • Knowledge of lease and licence arrangements and property processes

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

  • High attention to detail and strong record-keeping skills

  • A collaborative approach and confidence working with a range of stakeholders

Salary: Circa $74,000 - $82,000 p.a. plus superannuation (subject skills and experience).

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region. 

Tenure: Contract until December 2026, Full Time.
