The role & you
We have multiple vacancies available for experienced civil construction workers to join our team at the Taree Works Depot. If you’re looking for hands-on work that makes a real difference in your local community, this is a great opportunity to be part of a crew delivering essential infrastructure services.
In this role, you’ll be involved in a mix of manual labour and plant operation, contributing to the maintenance and construction of roads, bridges and drainage across the region.
What you’ll be doing

Carrying out maintenance and construction works on roads, bridges and drainage

Performing traffic control duties as required

Operating minor plant and trucks
-
Working in line with environmental requirements and safe work practices
What you’ll bring
-
Experience in the civil construction industry
-
A current NSW Class C Driver’s Licence (or higher)

A valid Construction Induction Card (White Card) with a strong understanding of WHS

Experience operating minor plant equipment such as rollers, tractors, slashers, trucks and water carts

A current Traffic Controller’s Card and Implement Traffic Control Plans Card, or willingness to obtain

Please note that to be a successful candidate for this role you’ll be required to complete a pre-employment medical check (this will include a drug and alcohol test, sight and hearing, functional and medical component)
The package: Commencing salary package range circa $55,900 to $61,500 p.a. plus superannuation. (Dependent on skills and experience.)
Location: Your normal place of work will be the Taree Depot at 36 Arkwright Crescent, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Tenure: Permanent Full Time, 38 hours a week. This position works on a 9-day fortnight.
Closing date: Sunday 15 February 2026 at 11.30 pm.
