The role
We’re seeking an experienced Business Improvement Specialist with a strong people and process focus to help align our people, processes and technology, with a particular emphasis on supporting business units across Development Assessment, Compliance and Certification services to deliver consistent, efficient and customer-focused outcomes. This is a 12-month fixed term position.
MidCoast Council is about to deliver an upgrade in the TechOne system across all of Council’s application processes. The implementation is well progressed, and we now need someone to take a structured, practical approach to translate work into clear “ways of working” and identify improvement opportunities that support our teams to confidently deliver services to the community.

What you'll bring
- Demonstrated experience in a process improvement or business analyst role, with a strong focus on people, process and operational practice
- Proven capability in facilitating end-to-end process mapping workshops with operational teams
- Experience developing clear, practical and user-friendly procedure documentation
- Exposure to system implementation, stabilisation or business transformation projects
- The ability to translate technical system design into workable day-to-day processes
- Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent written communication skills, particularly in producing structured, easy-to-follow documentation
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively across business and technical teams
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
- The ability to identify risks, gaps and improvement opportunities and recommend practical solutions

Salary: Commencing salary circa $94,536 p.a. plus superannuation.
Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Tenure: Fixed Term (12 months), Full Time.
