Do you love researching, planning and have an analytical mind? Do you enjoy facts and figures and have an eye for detail? Do you love working collaboratively as part of a team? Are you passionate about building relationships with stakeholders in order to achieve outcomes? If so, this could be the position for you!

MidCoast Council is looking a professional administrator to help connect the dots between strategy, performance and community outcomes.

Internally, this position is titled Integrated Planning and Reporting Officer, and this position sits at the heart of Council, working with leaders across the organisation to help plan what we do, track how we’re going, and tell the story of our progress to the community.

If you enjoy variety, collaboration and a bit of strategic thinking, this could be the perfect role for you.

The role

You’ll work closely with the Senior Integrated Planning and Reporting Officer to support the delivery of Council’s strategic planning and reporting framework.

This includes helping to develop and coordinate key documents such as the Community Strategic Plan, Delivery Program and Operational Plan, along with progress reports that keep our community informed about what we’re delivering.

No two days look the same, one day you might be working with managers across Council to gather information, the next you might be analysing performance data and coordinating reports for the executive team, Councillors and the community.

What you'll be doing

  • Working with teams across Council to gather and analyse information
  • Helping track organisational performance and progress against our goals
  • Turning complex information into clear, meaningful reports
  • Supporting projects and improvement initiatives across the Strategy and Performance team
  • Helping communicate Council’s plans and achievements to the community

About you

You might come from administration, planning, reporting, project support or a similar role. What matters most is that you’re organised, curious and enjoy working with people across an organisation.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Enjoys analysing information and turning it into meaningful insights
  • Can build great working relationships across teams
  • Is confident using Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel) and learning new systems
