Are you a strategic thinker who thrives on turning complex data into meaningful insights? Do you want your analytical skills to directly influence financial sustainability, service performance and community outcomes? This is a rare opportunity to join Council’s Waste Services team in a pivotal, ongoing role supporting one of Council’s largest and most essential service portfolios.
The role
Reporting to the Waste Manager, the Business Analyst Waste Services delivers continuous, real‑time operational, financial and performance analysis across a diverse and high‑value service area.
This area manages a significant annual budget, long‑term contracts with external providers, and major operational and infrastructure programs, including key service changes and regulatory requirements.
This new role will be responsible for strengthening financial sustainability, improving transparency, enhancing decision‑making and embedding measurable benefits realisation across collections, processing, facilities, contract management and regulatory compliance.
You will develop and maintain pricing models, cost recovery frameworks, performance dashboards and financial forecasts, while identifying incremental service improvements that deliver lasting, reportable savings and risk reduction. As an ongoing role, this position recognises that data-driven optimisation, contract oversight and financial modelling are enduring operational needs—not project-based tasks.
