Technical Officer

Job No: MCC6602625
Location: Taree

The role

We’re looking for two hands-on Technical Officers to join our Project Development team, supporting the design and delivery of road, bridge and drainage projects. These roles role suit candidates who are comfortable both in the office and out on site - preparing drawings, gathering field data, and working closely with engineers and surveyors to turn real-world conditions into accurate, buildable designs. You’ll be using CAD to produce and update plans, helping with investigations, and making sure project information is clear, reliable and ready for delivery.

Day to day, you’ll be involved in site inspections, collecting measurements and condition data, and assisting with testing such as pavement investigations and traffic counts. Back in the office, you’ll translate that into drawings, reports, and documentation that meet Council standards. You’ll work alongside engineers, surveyors and other teams, contributing to design improvements and keeping project records up to date. It’s a role where attention to detail matters, but so does being able to get out there, ask questions, and understand how things work on the ground.

We’re after candidates with experience in civil engineering support, drafting, or construction who can read plans, manage their time, and communicate clearly. A relevant qualification or solid hands-on experience in roads or civil works is important, along with a current driver’s licence. If you’re someone who takes pride in producing accurate work, works well with others, and isn’t afraid to get your boots dirty when needed, we’d love to hear from you!
