The role
We are seeking an experienced Survey Designer (Machine Guidance) to join our Project Development Team and support the delivery of civil infrastructure projects across Council.
In this role you will provide survey, design, and project development services across the full project lifecycle, including investigation, modelling, drafting, approvals, and construction support. You will develop and manage digital design models for machine guidance and construction delivery using platforms such as Topcon Office and Trimble Business Centre.
This is a hands-on, collaborative role working across multidisciplinary teams, requiring strong technical capability and the ability to influence outcomes and solve complex problems.
What you'll bring
- Qualifications in Civil Engineering, Surveying, or extensive equivalent experience
- Experience in survey, civil design, and project delivery within time and budget constraints
- Ability to develop and manage machine control / digital design models (Topcon and/or Trimble)
- Understanding of relevant legislation and standards (Local Government Act, Roads Act, EP&A Act)
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills

Salary: Salary range $85,964 - $96,709 p.a. plus superannuation (negotiable based on skills and experience).
Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
