About the Opportunity

The Psychosocial Recovery Coach involves providing recovery coaching support to NDIS participants. You will facilitate access to supports and services that help people on their recovery journey. The position will be responsible for supporting people with a lived experience of mental illness to confidently embark on a personal journey of recovery and to attain the kind of life they desire. 

Reporting to the Manager - Support Coordination and Mental Health Services, you will work alongside Support Coordination personnel to best service our customers in need. 

Key Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Coaching to increase recovery skills and personal capacity, including motivation, strengths, resilience and decision making.
  • Provide practical support in implementing a range of goals including life skills development, attending appointments and social skill building.
  • Provide access to activities and opportunities that promote independence.
  • Support participants to engage with both mainstream and NDIS funded services and programs.
  • Manage a caseload and achieve key performance indicators including billable hours.

The successful applicant with have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in peer work or mental health (minimum of Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or Certificate IV in Mental Health) or equivalent training; and/or a minimum of two years experience in mental heath-related work.
  • Provide First Aid qualification (current within 3 years) and Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation qualification (current within 12 months).
  • Knowledge of and a commitment to person centred, user led services and ability to facilitate a recovery focused model.
  • Knowledge of trauma informed care.
  • Current NSW drivers licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • Current Working with Children Clearance.
  • NDIS Worker Clearance.
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Model.
  • Current Covid-19 vaccinations

 This position is a permanent part time contract working 18 hours per week (flexibility to days will be considered). This position aligns to the SCHCADS Award Level 3 classification ($32.54 - $34.90 per hour).
